After the Orlando attack, you may be wondering exactly what are we doing to counter violent extremism?
If you haven’t heard, there is an FBI website entitled “Don’t Be a Puppet: Pull Back the Curtain on Violent Extremism”, aimed at young people who might be leaning toward terrorist groups. It’s like a video game, or series of games, with five informational sections, plus where to get help. Complete each section in order, free the virtual puppet in each section, and earn an FBI certificate.
Is it working? I’m not good at video games, so I have no idea how entertaining/enlightening this may be for teens. But it’s worth a try to counter the propaganda that’s already rampant on social media.
