Do you suffer from Triskaidekaphobia? If so, this is going to be a difficult year for you.

Triskaidekaphobia is basically fear of the number 13, including fear of Friday the 13th. And this year’s calendar features three of these dates: February 13, March 13, and November 13 are all Fridays. What are the odds?

This is not so much a case of probability but of a quirky calendar. But if you want quirks, 2025 had only one — on Friday, June 13, which just happened to be 39 weeks (3 x 13 weeks) before Friday, March 13, 2026. And 2027’s only Friday the 13th in August will come exactly 39 weeks (3 x 13 weeks) after Friday the 13th in November 2026. Weird.

And in case you are wondering about odds, the last February-March-November Friday the 13th year was 2015, eleven years ago. It will next happen in 2037, once again in eleven years. Weirder.

But so far we’ve survived February 13 without the world ending, so I think we’ll be okay.
